JDS Steel Fabrication operates an HPK-45 section and pipe rolling machine, giving us the capability to produce curved and rolled components in-house for structural, architectural and custom fabrication projects.

Our rolling capabilities cover a wide range of profiles including round tube, pipe, square and rectangular hollow section, flat bar, solid bar and angle, allowing us to manufacture everything from simple rings and curves through to specialised architectural components.

The HPK-45 has substantial capacity for its size, with published mild-steel capabilities including round tube up to Ø70 × 2 mm, SHS up to 50 × 50 × 3 mm, RHS up to 50 × 40 × 3 mm, flat bar up to 100 × 15 mm, solid round bar up to Ø35 mm and angle up to 50 × 50 × 5 mm, subject to the required rolling diameter, material and tooling.

Our section rolling capabilities are particularly useful for manufacturing curved handrails, spiral staircase components, rings, arches, frames, architectural features and custom rolled sections.

The machine can operate in both horizontal and vertical configurations, giving us additional flexibility when working with different profiles and applications.

Combined with our CAD design, CNC cutting, press brake and welding capabilities, rolled components can be designed, manufactured and incorporated directly into larger fabricated assemblies within our workshop.

For specialised profiles, larger sections or projects outside our in-house rolling capacity, we also work with trusted specialist rolling companies, allowing us to take on larger and more demanding projects without being limited by the capacity of a single machine.
